Suicide Attempt Life Insurance

We specialise in helping people who may have attempted suicide in the past to find life insurance, critical illness insurance, income protection insurance and travel insurance.

We are experts in knowing which insurers will consider your application, given your history of a suicide attempt, with a wealth of knowledge and years of experience. Most importantly, we do all the work for you making this a hassle-free and streamlined process.

Whilst we can’t always guarantee that we can get you insurance if you have attempted suicide, rest assured that we won’t leave any stone unturned. We will give you an honest assessment as to whether you will be able to get life insurance, as well as an indication of how much it might cost.

If there is a choice between insurers, we will help you find the insurer who is willing to offer you cover at the cheapest rate, so you can be confident in knowing you have the best deal.

We will do all the paperwork for you, and will keep you updated throughout so that you know how things are progressing.

We have a team who are specialists in finding life insurance for people who have attempted suicide, and they are always on the end of the phone to discuss your needs or concerns. We are a UK based company, you will not have to talk to foreign call centres.

So if you want the peace of mind of having some life insurance in place, we are the people to help.

These are just two of the testimonials we have received after finding life insurance for clients in similar circumstances:

“The service I received from Life Insurance Help was fantastic. Having thought I would not get life insurance, they explained it was possible. They relieved all the pressure of having to do it myself and kept me informed at each process of the application. I now have life insurance with a premium much lower than I expected, but most of all I have peace of mind for my family’s future. Thank you.”

“Life Insurance Help operate a very friendly and personal service. They are very quick and efficient and know the right companies to approach. I was very pleased with their recommendations and got an excellent deal. Thank you so much.”

So please get in touch and tell us about your circumstances, and we will help you find the insurance you need.

Suicide Attempts : About the Condition

Suicide is the intentional taking of one's own life. People attempt suicide for any number of reasons, and usually a combination of reasons. These can include bereavement, depression, anxiety, shame, guilt, desperation, physical pain, emotional pressure and financial difficulties. A recent survey of Samaritans callers found that 86% of them were calling about a number of problems or worries, rather than one single thing.

The Samaritans estimate that across England and Wales there are as many as 140,000 attempted suicides every year; which is one attempt every 4 minutes. In the UK for people aged 15-24, suicide is the second biggest cause of death after road accidents.

It can really help to talk about how you really feel, as talking puts you back in control and can help identify what choices you have. However many people who feel suicidal don’t feel they can express their feelings due to embarrassment, or because they do not want to burden family or friends.

Others who feel suicidal may have tried to express their despair only to be told to pull themselves together, to put things in perspective or to count their blessings. None of these help if you are feeling suicidal, and it is important not to hide your true feelings as this will only save the problem for later. Whether you are able to talk to a friend, your doctor or the Samaritans - talking really can help. If you don’t feel you can talk to anyone, you can also email or write to the Samaritans; their website address is shown above.

The following are the sort of feelings that people who are depressed or suicidal often feel. If you can identify with some or all of the following feelings, please seek help and talk to someone, particularly if you are considering suicide:

- Finding it hard to cope with everyday things
- Finding it hard to make simple decisions
- Having difficulty concentrating
- Finding it hard to get the motivation to get up in the mornings
- Feeling tearful at something which would not normally affect you that way
- Lacking energy and feeling very tired
- Not wanting to talk to or be with people, and conversation can be a struggle
- Eating, drinking or sleeping more or less than usual
- Using alcohol or drugs to cope with feelings
- Feeling restless and agitated
- Not taking care of yourself or feeling you don’t matter
- Having recurring thoughts of death and/or suicidal impulses, where suicide seems like a welcome relief

Suicide is not chosen; it happens when pain exceeds the resources for coping with pain. Therefore it can help to find a way to reduce the pain, or find a way to increase the coping resources. Both are possible with help.

About Life Insurance after a Suicide Attempt

A life insurance policy is designed to pay out a lump sum upon the death of a person or persons named on the policy.

Most people understand that if they have a family or significant liability, then life insurance is a vital product to make sure the people and things they care about are protected.

There are many different types of life insurance available depending on your needs. The good news is that we are able to help you with all of them.

We take the time to ensure that our customers have the most appropriate life insurance to meet their needs, whilst also making sure that the price is right. Some of our most satisfied customers came to us as they were unable to obtain the life insurance they wanted elsewhere.

We can't guarantee that we can get you life insurance, but we will leave no stone unturned. Given our experience, if we are unable to get you life insurance cover, it is unlikely you will be able to get it at all. We will however give you a good understanding on future insurability, and an honest assessment of your situation.

Whatever your life insurance needs, we are able to help you. We have access to all the products from all of the UK's leading insurance providers.
